Two Romanian planes arrive in Albania to intervene in the most serious flames.

Two aircrafts belonging to the Romanian Armed Forces arrived in Albania today, thereby reinforcing the efforts of the Albanian forces to contain and extinguish fires in some of the country’s most problematic areas.

The aircrafts have been dispatched to our country in support of the European Civil Protection Mechanism, of which Albania is also a member state.

The Romanian crews will be deployed for approximately ten days at the Kuçova Air Base, where they will be coordinated by the National Civil Protection Agency to engage in firefighting operations commencing today in the areas of greatest need.

Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu expressed gratitude to the Romanian authorities for their assistance during this challenging period at the reception of two planes from Romania with their crews.

The two military aircraft are a C-27J (Spartan) model, which will engage in firefighting operations, and a C-130 (Hercules), which provides logistical support to the C-27J. Each flight has a capacity of 6 tons of water.
